Etsy Love...Mother's Day Edition

Sometimes your husband just might need a subtle hint, dropped into casual conversation.

Other times he might need a direct link emailed to him with detailed instructions.

I'm going to go with the latter ;)

Here are some Etsy lovelies I just can't get out of my head...

itsy bitsy initial  necklaces...I'd like one with a "c" and one with a "j"...my girls' initials

Summer Time Canvas Tote

A pair of these...for my favorite chubby baby feet

...and a bright, twirly skirt for her sister

And this set of three prints to cheer up my hallway

What would you love to get (or give!)  for Mothers Day??

Guest Room Gorgeousness...

One of the reasons that we bought our house was that even with a growing family, we would still have the space for a guest room. I always wanted to have a home where family and friends could come and always feel welcome.

These are all guest rooms from one of my favorite mags: Canadian House & Home

by designer Sarah Richardson

Custom Monogrammed Email freebie!! So fun!! And did I mention..Free!

You guys. You guyssss. (my voice got all high and squeaky on that last one)

You have to go check out MeebleMail.  I just found out about this fun freebie from Shelli.

It lets you design custom monogrammed emails that look like personalized stationary, with designers like Trina Turk and Lela Rose lending their pattern inspiration. There are hundreds of designs to choose from, tons of fonts, and it works with your normal email provider.

I think the best part is you don't have to use your stationary template all the time. You just click a button when you want to use it.  (So if you use your regular email for work purposes, you can send normal old emails out and not have your boss or clients wonder why your email suddenly has a pink octopus and says Hugs and Kisses at the bottom. Or if your boss wouldn't even bat an eye at that, maybe you have some boundary issues. But that's another post all together)

It's a beta-site, which means it's in the testing phase before they do a full-scale launch,
so IT IS FREE :)
*hint: when go to "pay", put "gift card" in as the payment method and make sure it says "freebie" as the promo code.

Go do it!! And someone pleeease email me : )   I want to see what you chose!!

Shelli's  fun and sophisticated nursery she created for her daughter, was recently featured on Ohdeedoh. I love the punch of lime with crisp navy and white...

I knew the rest of her house must be just as fabulous and it is...

eat-in kitchen

living room

don't you love this old church pew??

Go check out the rest of Shelli's home, and find out what else she's up to on her blog,

Here's the thing...

...and the thing is...

I was going to post about how I recently got this skirt:

And how I love it. And how easy and breezy (and beautiful....cover girl) it is.
And how it is only $5 at Forever 21. And how they have it in peach and cream or grey and cream as well.

But then I woke up at 7am, snatched the tags off, all giddy-like at the idea of wearing new clothes and all hopped up on consumerism. Finished getting dressed for work in the semi-darkness of my room and skipped off to work.

And now this post must become a Public Service Announcement instructing buyers of this lovely skirt to perhaps strongly consider wearing nude panties as your undergarment of choice.

Here is a visual illustration.
this:
(i don't recall giving anyone permission to take pictures of my perfect, beautiful abs. so annoying)

not this:
(This is a pretty close replica)
(look, don't judge me. It's laundry day. and I may or may not have had these since college)

I will likely attempt to remain seated throughout the entire duration of my day at work.

I do have a rolling chair.

Katie for Loft...

I love Katie Holmes....

Tom Cruise is a wackadoo, and his whole scientology thing kind of weirds me out.
but Katie...I heart you.

I think her new pictures featuring Ann Taylor Loft's spring collection are lovely.

Loft is kind of hit or miss for me. Sometimes I can find pieces I love, and they're always really classic items that I keep for a long time. But other times they seem to lean a little "more mature" for me.
Here's some things I'm liking right now:

Dobby Seersucker Blazer

watercolor pebble print skirt

charlotte ruffle trim sheath

turquoise chip and pave rounds earrings

chambray sailor trouser pants

thoughts on loft?
my girl katie?

Happy Tuesday!
